About the Role

Location: Burlington, ON
Role Type: Flexible, in office preferred

As a Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of complex automation projects for manufacturing clients across a variety of industries, throughout North America. This role is critical to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget—while maintaining the high client satisfaction Ready Systems is known for.

You’ll oversee a project from start to finish — covering scope, resources, commissioning, and final handover — while serving as the main point of contact between clients, internal teams, and suppliers to keep goals and deliverables on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of custom automation projects, from kick-off through final handover
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and applications teams across all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Develop comprehensive project plans encompassing milestones, functional specifications, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage a broad stakeholder network including clients, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track and maintain project schedule, progress, and financial performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Lead regular status meetings and deliver clear, timely updates and reports to both internal teams and clients
  • Uphold technical and performance standards, ensuring specifications are met or exceeded while proactively managing scope
  • Coordinate commissioning and installation activities in collaboration with engineering and field teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or a related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience working on multidisciplined projects in the engineering or related field
  • At least 2-3 years of direct project management experience leading a multidisciplined team
  • PMP, or equivalent, certification is a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, controls integration, and manufacturing operations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
  • Experience with project management software tools and financial tracking
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, or commissioning (approx. 1–2 days/month)
  • Ideally located within 45 minutes of our office (Brantford ???, Ontario)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110,000 – $140,000

Physical & Safety Tasks

All applicants must be able to perform the following tasks as part of their player-coach operational responsibilities:

  • Walk up to 5 km per day during manufacturing floor oversight and plant walkthroughs.
  • Stand and work at heights or navigate tight operational environments during commissioning phases.
  • React quickly to visual and auditory factory alerts.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, safety eyewear, vests, and high-visibility gear during site visits.
